Charles has gained artistic inspiration through his studies in France, Ireland and the United States.

     After a long career as an eye surgeon and researcher in ocular anatomy and the physiology of vision, Charles turned his practiced eye to seeing color in the world around him into his paintings.

​     Through his understanding of the visual spectrum he continues to explore a variety of styles and hues incorporating aspects of historically loved works such as those of Kandinsky, Gauguin and the Impressionists.

     Charles often incorporates into his art scenes from his travels, as well as the surrounding environments of his residences in Florida and Connecticut.
